Juice Feasting Journey for Good Health

Harvest Day at the local Orchard

1796622_282808075247879_3762176625531923788_nWhen I was a child growing up in San Francisco, we would drive down to Half Moon Bay to a large, beautiful, moist filled air field, to explore and pick our pumpkins for Autumn, my favorite time of year! Oh, how I miss those days on the Pacific Bay Area coastal area with the rich smell of the ocean, enveloping my body and spirit.

But here I am in Las Vegas for my beloved family at our local Gilcrease Orchard picking apples and vegetables. And lets not forget the pumpkins for Autumn and Halloween.

Now being from San Francisco and eventually where I call paradise, Port Angeles, Washington, where I lived for 15 years, I am totally looking for ways to find the beauty in living here Las Vegas. This is one of the ways by coming to the Orchard, walking around in fields of live foods, in nature. We saw many insects and creatures that brought us joy in these fields today.

We also visited a local Halloween carnival where they provided my favorite place to be… a petting area for children and the young at heart, me! We spent over an hour hugging and being with these wonderful animals. Oh… so much fun we had.

These two goats let me hug and massage them all most the whole time were there!

So here was the results, a full refrigerator ready for more juicing!

Our juice was:

1 beet along with its green tops, 1 Zucchini, 1 Cucumber, 5-6 stakes of celery, half a lemon, 2 apples, 5 leafs of Kale. This created 50 ounces of juice! Juice On!

Juice Feasting Journey to better Health

Today I am using both juicers, the Breville for majority of produce but using the Omega Vert for the Kale, Ginger, Carrots & Dandelion Greens. Although I don’t have picture of the carrots, I used about 3 of them and I will share later why.

To start of course wash and rinse your produce. I allow produce to soak in the acidic water/vinegar mixture for about 10 minutes or so. Todays was: 2 apples, half lemon, thumb size of ginger, 1 zucchini, 2 cucumbers, half a head of lettuce ice berg since holds volume hydration, 1 bunch of celery, half bunch of kale and half bunch of dandelion greens.

IMG_5798After sharing some of the cucumber, apples with my dear companions Buddy & Achilles I juice up the rest in the Breville with very little need to prep/cutting up the produce like I need to do for the Omega Vert. I always use some good water to rinse out the parts to collect the rest of the juice to gather as much as possible.

Then I used the Omega Vert for the Kale, Ginger and Dandelion Greens. While juicing with masticating juicer it is recommended to alternate a harder vegetable or fruit between the soft greens hence the carrots I sliced up.

I drink about 8 ounces and place the rest in the frig for later.

Now kettle is full on the stove for tea later but for now after clean up, I am drinking down 10 ounces of water. I purchased years ago a Alkaline Purifier drinking system and was blown away by the several moles on my leg cleared and are now faint freckles.

Now I drink up half of my body weight in ounces, so here is my water to hydrate my body with today. Here are a few choices that I add to my water:

  • Lemon
  • Apple Cider Vinegar
  • Chlorofresh by Natures Way

Wonderful advice isn’t it?

Life is a journey of lots of choices from moment to moment.

Here are some examples of more choices, juice on and create great health. I am living proof of this. My asthma and allergies are the best they have ever been, no more menopausal symptoms like hot flashes, plantar fascists gone and so much more!

How to clean your organic vegetables and fruit

I clean one side of my kitchen sink and fill it with acidic adding some white vinegar about half a cup. Then I let it soak for a while after which I scrub them and rinse them in a tub of acidic water clear of vinegar.

Juice Feasting Journey for Good Health

Why I am sharing and offering a juice blog on this website The Journey Within featuring Energy Psychology? The reason is simple-Energy! Yes, everything is matter and posses energy. Even Thoughts are Things and posses energy. Here in this blog I am here to share how juicing has improved my own health from healing Plantar Fasciitis, reducing hot flashes, reducing my childhood asthma and allergies and over all lifting my energetic life force creating a feeling of being lighter in my energy field, having a clearer mind and I just feel nourished after I drink the juice.

I wanted to show how to juice, some recipes, different juicers options and how to tie this simple process into your daily life that even your children will enjoy!

Food as you know is fuel to our bodies. Vegetables and Fruits in their raw state are living foods. Whereas meats to process food are dead with little nutritional or no nutritional value. Dairy properties are known to create havoc on many peoples health from acne to allergies and digestion issues.

Living organic foods hold higher vibrational energy. So to optimize our health juicing will help improve any health condition. It is simpler than cooking. And easy to take with you if you are on the go by putting in glass mason jars. I mule in my alkaline water and juice when I leave home and keep it close by to drink.

IMG_4999Due to all the juicing I do, you can imagine how much pulp I throw out. So I finally invested in two 50 gallon composter that will eventually be feeding my garden I will be putting in this year. Took me two partial days to finish it. The one on the right is the first tumbler I add food scraps to until it is all most full. I keep a five gallon bucket in the kitchen with pine pellets on the bottom so I can add my food scraps to it. Growing Your Greens & Discount Juicers John Kolher gave me some compost starter from his own compost which helps bring in the micro organisms to get the compost going.

John did a consult featuring my yard area on his Youtube site Growing Your Greens,  where I will be adding in a vegetable garden this year. Due to knowing that my two companion male dogs may step into the garden and go potty has been a challenge to design and figure out what would be the best raised bed to do here in triple digits Las Vegas. So after much thought I came across the style due to the cost and durability. I will be using John’s irrigation system he uses that uses very little water. I was considering Aquaponics but I didn’t want to use the fish and keep them outside in this heat, take the risk Achilles might eat them and I didn’t want to use them. I don’t even like keeping birds any more in cages for companionship or fish tanks with fish swimming around in a small tank.

I came across this quote while searching for what you can compost:

“I consider composting a sacred act. A person who composts thoughtfully is a shepherd over the transformation from death into life. Without the holy cycle of decay and rebirth that the composter harnesses for her garden, life on this planet could not exist.”  Wow… I’m impressed and will now honor this. Here is the website for a list 100 Things You Can Compost:

There are several sites on Pinterest that show in detail how to build this raised galvanized steel with wood rails. I’m excited. I only wish my yard would look this good 🙂 Oh well. I love being here to visit with my son and grandson!

Here is a video of my 4 year old grandson juicing and singing.

2014 Summer

Some more juicing with Dieszel, my grandson and love of my life! Juicing in the heat of summer truly cools you down and you feel so nourished and refreshed. It all most feels like the live veggies/fruits are smiling inside you!

Have some! Try the juice. It tastes yummy!

See! All Gone!

1. Cucumbers contain most of the vitamins you need every day, just one cucumber 1013875_755783694465918_8988118056934889932_ncontains Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3, Vitamin B5, Vitamin B6, Folic Acid, Vitamin C, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium and Zinc.

2.For a pick me up in the afternoon… Put down the caffeinated soda and pick up a cucumber. Cucumbers are a good source of B Vitamins and Carbohydrates that can provide that quick pick-me-up that can last for hours. Slice some and put in your water bottle.

3. If you rub a cucumber slice along your bathroom mirror, it will eliminate the fog and provide a soothing, spa-like fragrance.

4. Place a few slices of cucumber in a small pie tin and your garden will be free of pests all season long. The chemicals in the cucumber react with the aluminum to give off a scent undetectable to humans but drive garden pests crazy and make them flee the area.

5. Looking for a fast and easy way to remove cellulite before going out or to the pool? Try rubbing a slice or two of cucumbers along your problem area for a few minutes, the phytochemical in the cucumber cause the collagen in your skin to tighten, firming up the outer layer and reducing the visibility of cellulite. Works great on wrinkles too!!!

6. Want to avoid a hangover or terrible headache? Eat a few cucumber slices before going to bed and wake up refreshed and headache free.

Cucumbers contain enough sugar, B vitamins and electrolytes to replenish essential nutrients the body lost, keeping everything in equilibrium, avoiding both a hangover and headache!

7. Looking to fight off that afternoon or evening snacking binge? Cucumbers have been used for centuries by European trappers, traders and explorers for quick meals to thwart off starvation.

8. Have an important meeting or job interview and you realize that you don’t have enough time to polish your shoes? Rub a freshly cut cucumber over the shoe, its chemicals will provide a quick and durable shine that not only looks great but also repels water.

9. Out of WD 40 and need to fix a squeaky hinge? Take a cucumber slice and rub it along the problematic hinge, and voila, the squeak is gone!

10. Stressed out and don’t have time for massage, facial or visit to the spa? Cut up an entire cucumber and place it in a boiling pot of water, the chemicals and nutrients from the cucumber will react with the boiling water and released in the steam, creating a soothing, relaxing aroma that has been shown to reduce stress in new mothers and college students during final exams.

11. Just finish a business lunch and realize you don’t have gum or mints? Take a slice of cucumber and press it to the roof of your mouth with your tongue for 30 seconds to eliminate bad breath, the photochemical will kill the bacteria in your mouth responsible for causing bad breath.

12. Looking for a ‘green’ way to clean your faucets, sinks or stainless steel? Take a slice of cucumber and rub it on the surface you want to clean, not only will it remove years of tarnish and bring back the shine, but it won’t leave streaks and won’t harm you fingers or fingernails while you clean.

What better time to juice and be refreshed. Lots of greens instead of fruits keeps your body sugars in tact.

Someone recently shared they juiced daily carrots,  beets and oranges! Wow…. that is a lot of sugar my friend. Add just one of those with cucumber, celery, kale etc…

This juice was: Cucumber, celery, zucchini, kale, ginger, apple, lemon!

Here is the one I have found to really like and you may as well. You can find it in the supplement section in the refrigerator. I take it daily when I remember in the morning. The base is coconut water.

We have come to learn in recent years, that in order to have a healthy brain, we most have a healthy gut! Besides the nutrients, science has come to learn about the microbiome, all of the bugs living in the gut. The microbiome is all our inhabitants, our silentkefir grains passengers, the trillions of bacteria in the gut. They dictate a lot about our immunological system, our mental health and brain health. There’s a lot to do with the gut tied to how we feel, all those brain signals that are firing. Good moods, sharp thinking, lots of focus, lots of energy — that’s all this brain phenomena they have found that is tied to our gut health. Hence… Fermented foods are the key to helping our bodies create better physical and mental health.

Store bought milk kefir is full of sweeteners and thickening agents in order to create a uniform product, less diversity of microbial culture than homemade due to manufacturing limitations, so convenience comes at a cost plus commercially mass produced Kefirs and yogurts often have only around 10 healthy bacteria compared to homemade Kefir has 30-50 healthy bacteria. It is easy to make a fresh milk kefir with kefir grains.

IMG_3776Top benefits of Kefir I found intriguing:

  • Reduces or eliminates allergies
  • Reduces or eliminates asthma symptoms
  • Replenishes the body with good bacteria after antibiotic use
  • Heals eczema
  • Contains high levels of vitamin B12, calcium, magnesium, vitamin K2, biotin, folate, enzymes and probiotics
  • Promotes deep sleep
  • Heals ulcers
  • Heart Health prevents cardiovascular disease, lowers blood pressure and lowers cholesterol
  • Antibacterial and antifungal properties means that it kills harmful organisms such as Salmonella as well as Candida albicans making it a good choice for those suffering from candida overgrowth.

Here is link to learn more about Homemade Kefir and how to make it.

 Spring Time Juicing

So this photo looks so delicious doesn’t it? It taste just as wonderful. I feel so satisfied while working and sipping on this juice. This amount of veggies/fruit will produce enough juice to keep me full till afternoon 2’s or so. I also drink water in between. Looking at this beautiful inspires me!

Grapefruit Sugar Scrub and cleaner

IMG_3532Since I have the left over of the grapefruit peel I did some research on how to make a cleaner for the kitchen sinks and bath tubs/showers.

I also made up a scrub for myself, friends and family.

Grapefruit Sugar Scrub

Peel rinds blended to a texture you desire, organic sugar fine, organic oil like Almond or Avocado your choice. Fill container that has a lid to half full, then add to that half of oil, stir and mix. Shower/bath rinse, turn off shower water, scrub yourself down, then rinse off!

IMG_3797 IMG_3798IMG_3796

Grapefruit Scouring Scrub Recipe

3 Tbsp dried or I just eye it, powdered grapefruit peels lay peels out for few days then grind up to powder don’t put in oven to dry heating breaks down the oils

3 Tbsp borax

5 Tbsp baking soda

Combine everything in a shaker (like an old container) and shake well to combine it all. Use liberally wherever scouring is required. Be sure to rinse the scrub off well with a clean, wet sponge.

Grapefruit Salt Scrub

Leftover grapefruit peel can help you take care of your skin. A salt scrub using grapefruit rind is a way to use up those peels in a concoction that moisturizes, exfoliates and smells good. One tablespoon of grapefruit zest combines with sea salt, oil and ginger and will store well in an air-tight container. Of course don’t use this salt scrub on your face or freshly shaved legs.

So I can’t help it! I’m in love with my grandson

Here is Dieszel, my grandson juicing. I have two videos I will add later with him singing while juicing…so cute!

IMG_4228IMG_4227Dieszel is truly loving it. One day he drank 12 ounces and then asked for another IMG_4242IMG_4250full glass!

Juicer Purchase Mistake 🙁

Last year I decided to purchase the juicer the Omega Vert I had seen demo by John Kolher at a local health food store Pure Health (great people own it, who are vegan’s and juice up to 5 months at a time!) However, I was talked into getting this juicer below. John Kolher has the website Discount Juicers http://www.discountjuicers.com

John was out of town as usual doing his video adventures on Growing your Greens

and Okraw you can find him here:

zm70339I wasn’t sure how long he would be gone. So went to purchase the Omega Vert I had been drooling over since I witness the demo months ago.

From the first time I juiced I was pretty upset at the results. And found out I couldn’t return it the same day. I was very disappointed. I used the juicer only two more times with the same results. So there it sat hundreds and hundreds of dollars gone on something I couldn’t use.

Then this Spring John Kolher was generous enough to make a trade with me for the Omega Vert brand new out of the box! Thank you John! Wow… I am in love with this juicer and so is my grandson who loves to use it as well.

Since 2011

I have been juicing since 2011. I find it amazing how wonderful my health is due to this.

I encourage you to invest in your wellness and prevention by adding juicing for Good Health.

IMG_3556 IMG_3558

Time to start the New Year off with a few days of just juicing to help assist the body into better balance!

Algae’s and Chlorella

These are two supplements I take daily along with Chlorella. I mix the Spirulina and Chlorella with the juice and 1 Astaxanthin taking the other one other at night and drink right down.

Did you know Astaxanthin taken for several months a head of time acts as a natural sunscreen? Now this is the only sunscreen product I will use.

Holidays & Winter Time 2013-2014

 Christmas time is so magical

IMG_3043 IMG_3028

From the tree decorating to the celebrating with family and friends to making gifts for one another. My favorite time of year!

My grandson Dieszel is very generous and thoughtful child. All ways making cards and gifts to his parents and nana. So to help him contribute for this Christmas time of giving, I came up with the idea to make some ornaments he can decorate to give to his grand parents in Montana, for his father, mother, Nana and our favorite friends and neighbors Frank & Joani! Oh my… so much fun! The Attitude of Gratitude!

Even during this time of year of goodies, parties and frivolity, juicing is needed even more to balance our health.

Happy Christmas to All.

Better than eggs & toast? You bet!

When I went away for a holiday for a week, I was craving the juice. My small town health food store had expanded and added a fresh juice bar thank goodness. So I got my daily fix while away.

So how long does it take?

For me, just twenty minutes to wash/clean, prep, juice, store and clean up. That’s quick and easy. The yield will depend on what you are juicing.

IMG_3282Due to diet, allergies etc… I have been taking supplements and teas to aide in better elimination. I came across this product by Dr. Group and after taking it for a very short period of time, I have no longer needed any aide. I highly recommend this product and his other website products as well like the Liver Cleanse.

IMG_2132IMG_1868My two dogs Buddy and Achilles my dear companions. Here is what I share with my guys cut up to add to their food while I am making my own juice. Then for their main meal I cut up carrots and cooked yams to their dry along with some wet food.

Since Buddy is nearly fourteen years young he has difficulty walking a bit so I purchase Buddy this dog stroller. Buddy finally now rides in it without barking the whole time like he use to. I can feel he is envious of Achilles walking and his ego that he isn’t 🙂

November 18, 2013

Wow… this was a yummy juice. I juiced up 2 lemons plus some ginger, placed this mixture into another jar and added water to take with me for the day. The rest of lemon mix is left in the pitcher while I juice up these veggies.

Love juicing, feels so great in my body!

November 2, 2013

So recently I discovered that the extreme bitter taste in my Aloe leaves maybe toxic due to some element that is in the leaves and some in the gel. So I was introduce to “Aloe Force” which is live, raw, whole, organic! Plus that bitter taste has been eliminated.

I add it to my water lemon mix several times a day.

Happy Health!

October 30, 2013

Chia seeds are high in Omega-3 fatty acid, fiber, rich in antioxidants, high in minerals, helps in feeling full and satisfied plus helps regulate insulin levels in the blood. I briefly blend them in the Vitamix for few seconds to break it down then pour into some juice or my favorite lemon mix!

October 28, 2013

Ahhhh… the coconut & your sweet water. If you look closely you may notice two eyes and a mouth. Well it’s the mouth of the coconut you drill out since it is softer here, then place a straw in it and drink! Thanks John. (John gifted me a few of these)

October 24, 2013

Great abundance of juice today with blessings for good health with preventive live foods.  Today I choose to make healthy choices for my health. To respect and honor my physical body!

October 23, 2013

IMG_1928IMG_1933Let’s talk about poop! For over 30 years I have educated myself on this subject and have learned the importance of healthy bowel movements and colon health. The position of the height we place our legs/feet makes all the difference in assisting our bodies to eliminate better. So use a stool to prop up your legs while eliminating. Many people even stand on the toilet and squat for proper elimination. I was pleased to see even Dr. Oz mentions using a stool on his tv show to assist while eliminating. Try it , it makes a big difference. Happy pooping 🙂

October 22, 2013

Today’s gem is:

  • Cucumber
  • Zucchini
  • Kale
  • Cabbage half
  • Lettuce
  • Celery
  • Apples
  • Grapefruit Peeled
  • Lemons
  • Ginger

I drink down a large glass of this wonderful magical elixir, pour some into a large mason jar to take with me for the day and store the rest into frig for later 🙂  I also always take another large mason jar of a water mixture if it’s my Aloe mix, Chlorophyl mix, tea mix etc… or just Water! Happy Juicing and make it a healthy, happy day. It is a choice 🙂

October 20,2013

IMG_1872Juicing daily assures me I am taking in many live foods. I feel lighter healthier starting my daily this way, you may as well.

  • Head of lettuce
  • Head of celery
  • Large cucumber
  • Large zucchini
  • 4-5 leaves of kale
  • Lemon
  • Grapefruit skinned

  • Ginger

October 19, 2013IMG_1846

Juicing in the morning is for me easier and healthier choice. I store my juice in mason jars and take them with me for the day storing them in the refrigerator at work. Or I keep them in a thermal type lunch box to keep them cold and handy.

October 17, 2013

Today’s tip is about storing our produce. Did you know that it’s science. Certain fruits give off ethylene, which is deadly when paired with vegetables. So not all fruits and veggies should be stored the same way.

Fruits that should not be refrigerated are:

  • Avocados, Bananas, Peaches, Pears and Tomatoes.

A few Fruits that MUST be refrigerated are:

  • Apples, Apricots, Blueberries, Figs, Melons, Raspberries and Strawberries

Must vegetables store in Frig however, potatoes and onions store in a cool place.

Think about how you shop in the produce section and how the produce is presented. Notice the fruits and vegetables that are in wet cooler section and those in dryer area. And keep that in mind. For myself this has prevented loss in produce and we all know Organic is more expensive presently.

Produce recommended to eat quickly before spoiling are:

  • Asparagus, Artichokes, Broccoli, Green Beans, Mushrooms

I have heard over the years many people when shopping come home and wash their produce before storing in the refrigerator! Wow… I was always impressed by their energy and diligence. Personally just getting the produce put away was my best. Recent data has shared washing before storing increases speeds up the spoiling process 🙂

Here is today’s adventure and results. Since it is harvest time, some of the veggies are large like in the first pic with a large Zucchini and Cucumber. As I went to cut into smaller pieces, I could barely do it and thought this must be unusable as you can see in the second  pic. I put a side to ask a friend who was coming over later in the day if it was juiceable. Until then, I chose another smaller Zucchini as in the third pic. The yield was wonderful and tasty. Beautiful too!

When John came over, he informed me absolutely you can juice this and suggested trying Butternut squash as well.

John is a raw~foodist of 18 years now and has thousands of YouTube videos online to learn from on eating my live foods into your diet. Here is his channel called OkRawhttp://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-Ah7_LqD8mL_XTzNF0T5nA

John has another channel called GrowingYourGreen where you can learn how to grow your own Organic food. This guy is prolific in the amount of information he provides for us FOR FREE! http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCUnFheTbVpASikm0YPb8pSw

John came to my home for a consult on how I can start a organic garden. You may watch that episode here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jp46CNo2pzo

Also, John has a great website to purchase Juicers from called Discount Juicers http://www.discountjuicers.com

Being this is my favorite time of year like so many of us, I love using this aroma therapy blend cooking on my stove each day filling my home with this wonderful aroma.

So yummy. I love it and you may as well.

Here’s the recipe of course you don’t need to use organic ingredients.

  • Oranges 2
  • Cinnamon sticks 3 cut up
  • Cranberries
  • Cloves sticks and powder
  • Star Anise 8
  • Vanilla 2 tablespoons

Fill the pot with water and simmer having the aroma fill your home. To add to this experience why not play some harvest music for Autumn. This combination just makes my heart smile. Loreena McKennitt “Come By The Hills” from A Mummers Dance Through Ireland.

Simple art of tea! Tea is a large part of many people daily routine. I may not drink tea daily but when I do here are a few favorites.

Oolong Tea is my prefered choice that I reach for. It has a nice mild taste. This tea aids in reduction of chronic health conditions such as heart disease, inflammatory disorders,  and high cholesterol levels, while providing vital antioxidants, promoting superior bone structure, robust skin and good dental health. Oolong tea is fragrant with a fruity flavor and a pleasant aroma. Despite its caffeine content, it can still be extremely relaxing to drink.

I also enjoy Skinny Bliss Tea my friend Kim created this yummy blend, a local owner of the infamous Pure Health Food Store in Las Vegas. You can purchase it here or if you live in Vegas they are located on Buffalo and Washington West side near Trader Joes.

This tea offers wonderful benefits. Skinny Bliss is here to help you rejuvenate, rebuild and add balance to your mind, body and spirit. Add Skinny Bliss to your daily diet to complement your healthy lifestyle; one full of abundant, organic foods. It’s a delicious addition to your day with so many great results for a blissful new you!” Caffeine Free, Cruelty Free, Vegan Servings Per Container 50 to 60 cups Organic Ingredients: Organic Jiaogulan, Organic Rhodiola Root, Organic Ashwagandha, Organic Tulsi Holy Basil

My blended drink now includes Aloe Vera but not from my Aloe plant is not big enough. So Whole Foods orders a case of Aloe Vera leaves which are giant! I use my Cai Boa tool to peel the Aloe then place it in the blender with my left over blended recipe then added my juice left over as well.

Aloe Vera plant about 3 inches long peeled.

So this left over leaf will be enough for 2-3 days.

Benefits of Aloe … there are so many to post here so here are just a few for the reason I am using it. Aloe vera could be considered a superfood, the leaf is filled with a gel containing at least 75 nutrients, 20 minerals, 12 vitamins, 18 amino acids, and 200 active enzymes. These compounds have tremendous benefit and potential in external and internal applications. As well a cleansing and reduction of inflammation letting go access body weight as well. I ideally would be wonderful to grow your own, but sadly for my use mine are so small compared to these giant leaves 🙂

Over the years as I cleaned up my diet and the emotional stress these areas got better however, my nail beds had developed ridges and dents especially on my right thumb nail since that was the thumb the grow a large lump.  Here is a photo the night it grew right in front of me. By the time it stop growing it was bigger than in this photo. I thought these ridges were always going to be there since it was so large. Well… a few months ago I was sharing how my arthritis had gone away and to my surprise the ridges and dents had cleared up and gone from all the juicing I have done this pass year 🙂 Happy Juicing and Happy Health!

IMG_1263Keeping your daily juice mix with a variety is so important to ensure a full spectrum of nutrients. I also share many of the veggies and fruit with my two companions 🙂

IMG_1440Cilantro is wonderful in removing heavy metals out of your system so I use these in my blended green drinks and juice. The issue many of us have is keeping the cilantro fresh. So here is the trick… trim the stems a bit and place the cilantro in a jar, fill with water 1/4 to 1/2 and place a plastic bag over it and store in the refrigerator changing the water every few days.

September 19, 2013

Making enough juice for the whole day works best for me since I work and have a busy schedule. By doubling my recipe is what I do like add 2 bunches celery and 2 cucumbers etc… Place my juice in mason jar and store the rest in the refrigerator for when I come home.

It’s important to drink a minimum of 64 ounces to 90 ounces per day while juice feasting/cleansing. I also incorporate teas to coconut water.

Recently found out the White Mexican coconuts maybe found here locally and are affordable depending on the season. Or the dollar store for coconut water maybe found there as well however, make sure it is 100% coconut water with nothing else added.

Until I get a hold of these coconuts I use Nirvana IMG_1295Coconut water which is very pricey but delicious.

Now if I could get his father to love juicing like his little four year old son does  😛

I am so amazed at how much our children can follow our lead. This little guy loves healthy foods and his share of junk like the rest of us. But he does question these choices.

So if he can love juice so can You!

September 18, 2013

Making sure to drink plenty of water is important daily and even more important while juice feasting if it is a day to 5 months like my friend Kim did who I dearly admire for her journey. Half our body weight in ounces of water daily is suggested. So what kind? Hum… many opinions on this. I have had my own personal experience with my water alkaline machine that did change two moles on my thigh that were raised and dark from drinking my RO system here in Vegas after 5 years. Within 10 days of using this new water system I started noticing a difference that the two moles were going down in size. Now they are but faint freckles.

Using ginger in the juice is so healing. I tuck the ginger with the skin on into some lettuce leaves. I also cut it up and add to the kettle of hot water along with a variety of teas and mint leaves then allow them all to steep for a while. Later I pour tea mix into several containers half way and fill the rest with water and store in the refrigerator

September 15, 2013

Water, water and more water while juicing to flush out those stored toxins. Drink up to half your body weight in ounces of water each day or more for best results. I drink teas as well. But I still love adding Chlorofresh to my water occasionally and take with me. I love it. The list of benefits is long which was attracted me in the first place but now I just love including weekly into my diet. Looks black here but it is really dark green.

September 13, 2013

While juicing for cleansing/feasting period of time keep in mind that sometimes by the end of the day you maybe too tired to juice again so make enough for the whole day including the evening. I know of some people who juice 3 times a week and store the juice. Whatever, works for you. Just keep in mind fresher is better and only use organic produce.

Juicing has helped me in so many ways;

  • My Plantar fasciitis is gone that I had for years
  • Hot flashes nearly all gone
  • Skin tags reduced
  • Arthritis signs in my hands gone and nails repaired due to past issues in my fingers
  • Asthma is better
  • Less body weight
  • Clearer mind
  • More energy

So I encourage you to juice daily and eat more live foods daily with a wide variety veggies and fruits.

My favorite kitchen tool is the Cai bao Vietnamese knife slicer. I use it daily in peeling grapefruit to the organic sticky labels off the market places on the veggies & fruit. This tool is wonderful at peeling the pineapple as well. I love it! Awesome! Every kitchen needs one of these. Make sure to dry it off and maintain the knife with salt and oil scrub occasionally. I also oil it after each use.

You may purchase this tool on the website below. I love their recipes and products as well.

September 5, 2013

Today, I shared the Blended recipe with my grandson and he loved this just like he does his Green Drink.

D with Blended

September 4, 2013

I started my grandson on Green Drinks early on in his life. I was surprised to watch how much he loves to drink them over treats. He has come to figure out treats don’t always makes him feel good. I have watched him turn down treats for his Green Drink in amazement. IMG_0022

September 3, 2013                                                                                                         Green and Blended

My Blended drink I am incorporating into this journey of cleansing is an incredible powerful recipe due to the phytochemicals hidden in the stems, skin, seeds, rinds, fibers and flesh of the fruits and vegetables. The Avocado Seed is extremely high in soluble fiber and phytochemicals, which is wonderful for cleaning out your arteries, lower cholesterol, and has the energy of an entire tree.

I use Vita Mix Blender to make all my blended drinks, soups, sauces since the blades are powerful enough to create this wonderful healing recipe.

Ingredients: Organic

  • Water about a cup or a cup or more of Taste Nirvana Coconut Water
  • Strawberries about 8 with the tops left on
  • Corn that I cut the kernels off about half a stock
  • Half an Apple with the core seeds included
  • Avocado half peeled with Seed included
  • Lime half peeled with Cai Bao tool
  • Beet a thick slice
  • Cucumber half
  • Ginger thumb size
  • Mint a few stems with leaves
  • Cilantro a few stems with leaves
  • Goji Berries small handful Heaven Mountain brand is my favorite
  • Optional Chia seeds, Hemp seeds, Flax seeds
